Sindh Governor Hails Abdul Sattar Edhi’s Enduring Humanitarian Legacy

Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi on Wednesday paid tribute to legendary humanitarian Abdul Sattar Edhi on his death anniversary, describing him as a timeless symbol of compassion, selfless service and humanity whose legacy continues to inspire generations.

The governor said Edhi dedicated his entire life to serving people without discrimination based on religion, race, language or ethnicity, adding that his unwavering commitment to the poor, vulnerable and underprivileged had become a beacon of hope and dignity for millions across Pakistan.

Hashmi said personalities of Edhi’s stature emerge only once in generations and remain among a nation’s greatest treasures. He added that Edhi’s lifelong humanitarian mission had secured him a distinguished place in history through his unparalleled devotion to public service.

He described the Edhi Foundation’s nationwide humanitarian network as a priceless national asset and a globally recognised model of philanthropy, stressing that preserving and advancing Edhi’s mission of compassion, charity and selflessness was both a national and moral responsibility.

The governor said Abdul Sattar Edhi demonstrated through his life that serving humanity is the highest form of worship and the noblest moral obligation. He added that the nation continued to honour one of its greatest benefactors and paid tribute to his extraordinary contributions to humanity.
