Abbottabad District Administration Takes Strict Action Against Roadside Debris Dumping

The district administration of Abbottabad took strict action today on the environmental concerns arising from the illegal dumping of construction debris along the roadside.

In an effort to curb the environmental threat, Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram instructed Additional Assistant Commissioner Revenue Afshin Rahman to inspect the area near Shimla Hill Park. This move was made following a formal complaint lodged at the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

During the investigation, it was found that unknown individuals had irresponsibly dumped construction materials and excavation debris from the hills along the roadside. This illegal activity not only damages the environment but also obstructs traffic flow and harms the road infrastructure.

To address this critical issue, the district administration has prominently displayed a warning notice at the site, clearly indicating the legal prohibition against such dumping. This notice serves as a public reminder of the consequences of violating local regulations.

Furthermore, the Station House Officer has been directed to enforce strict legal measures against offenders in the future. This includes the arrest of responsible individuals, presenting them in court, and initiating legal proceedings under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Environmental Protection Act 2014.
