Union Club First C Zone Sindh Ranking Tennis Championship successfully concluded

Under the Sindh Tennis Association, the Union Club First C Zone Sindh Ranking Tennis Championship 2026 successfully concluded today at Union Club Karachi, marking an important achievement for the region’s tennis community. A large number of participants took part in the event, with the Secretary of Sports, Government of Sindh, Munawar Ali Mahesar, attending and appreciating the efforts made by the Sindh Tennis Association to promote inclusive sports activities, especially in wheelchair tennis and competitions for players with intellectual developmental disabilities.

The closing ceremony was also attended by Nikita Kosyakov from the Russian Friendship House and Ahmed Ali Rajput, with Ms. Arooba Khalid from C Zone, who announced continued support for sports activities. Ms. Khalid highlighted the commitment of C Zone to sponsor future events and mentioned their participation in the first Sindh Sports Gala, which showcases various sports over two months.

In the finals, Zoha Imad from Shaheen Sports Academy, Malir, worked hard to win against Maryam Shahid in the ladies’ singles final with a score of 8-7. In the men’s doubles final, Karachi Gymkhana’s Arham Shahzad and Shehzad Khan defeated Syed Muhammad Sufyan and Syed Muhammad Abdullah, winning the match 8-0.

In the boys under 7 singles final, Yasir Fazli defeated Zohaib Imad with scores of 10-2, 10-3. In the ladies’ doubles, Maryam Shahid teamed up with Araj Batool to defeat the pair of Zoha Imad and Dua Yousuf 8-3. In the wheelchair tennis men’s singles final, Pakistan Navy’s Fida Hussain defeated Al-Nusrat Trust’s Sajjad Khan 4-1. In the IDD ladies’ singles final, Saadia Junaid defeated Nosheen with a score of 4-1.

The success of the event was credited to the combined efforts of the Sindh Tennis Association and sponsors, with gratitude expressed to Rehan Hasnain of C Zone and Syed Javed Iqbal of New Era Creation for their support in continuously hosting tennis events in Karachi.
