The construction of the Pipri Multi-Logistics Park is rapidly progressing under the auspices of the Prime Minister’s Maritime Reforms Task Force, aimed at revolutionizing cargo transportation and port connectivity.
Engineer Altaf Qadir Bajwa, Project Director of National Logistics Corporation Sindh, stated today that this significant project, valued at 2.46 billion rupees, is moving towards its final stages. The partnership with NLC and DP World has been crucial in this endeavor.
A key component of the project is the 1.5-kilometer railway link designed to connect Port Qasim and Karachi Port. This link will streamline logistics operations and enhance the efficiency of goods movement.
The Pipri site will include a railway freight container and a multi-logistics park, comprising warehouses, container storage facilities, vehicle parking spaces, and administrative blocks.
Spanning an extensive area of 37,700 square meters, this robust site can accommodate 260 containers and trucks at one time. This infrastructure will facilitate the transfer of trailers arriving from upcountry to the Pipri Logistics Park, after which goods will be transported to ports via railway networks.
This initiative is expected to reduce the load of 250 to 500 trailers currently entering Karachi, assisting in a more organized and efficient logistics system.
