Pakistan has strongly condemned the persistent threats posed by the Houthi militia to commercial ships operating in the waters of Saudi Arabia and the Red Sea.
In a statement issued today, Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andarabi highlighted the threat these threats pose to regional stability and the global principles of free navigation. He emphasized that such actions could harm the integrity of the maritime system.
Andarabi clarified that any aggressive action against Pakistani-flagged vessels or any action affecting Pakistan’s maritime interests would be considered a severe threat to the nation’s security and sovereignty.
Expressing deep concern, the spokesperson pointed to the potential escalation of the Middle East conflict, with efforts being made to involve Saudi Arabia in this conflict. He reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia’s security, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and prosperity and described Saudi Arabia as a brotherly ally.
