Agreement to further strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh

Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman have agreed to strengthen relations between their countries. This decision was reached during a meeting held today on the sidelines of the 33rd ASEAN Regional Forum Ministerial Meeting.

The discussion highlighted the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Bangladesh relations, spurred by the Deputy Prime Minister’s visit to Bangladesh the previous year. Both leaders expressed a shared commitment to enhancing diplomatic ties.

There was a mutual appreciation for the growing engagement between the two countries, notably through increased people-to-people interactions and the introduction of direct flights this year. These developments are seen as pivotal in maintaining the upward momentum in their relationship.

The two officials also took the opportunity to exchange perspectives on regional and international matters of mutual interest, underscoring the collaborative spirit between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
