Washington, September 20, 2022 (PPI-OT):President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, has asked the US to play its role to bring lasting solution to the Kashmir dispute that has been the main cause of tension in the region.
The AJK President made these remarks during his meeting with the US Deputy Secretary of State Elizabeth Horst in Washington, today (Tuesday).
Barrister Sultan Mahmood briefed the US Deputy Secretary of State about worsening political and human rights situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He said that after 5th August 2019, violation of human rights at the hands of Indian occupation forces has increased to a great extent. Later, talking to journalists, the AJK President maintained that the dire situation in IIOJK needs urgent attention of the international community, particularly the US.
