A daily situation report from the Director General of Health Sindh on Monday revealed a significant number of new dengue infections, with 559 people testing positive for the virus from 5,070 tests conducted across the province in a single day.
Laboratory reports indicated that facilities in Karachi identified the highest concentration of infections with 347 positive cases, while laboratories in Hyderabad confirmed an additional 212 cases.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 83 new dengue patients were admitted for treatment, with 50 individuals being hospitalized in government facilities and another 33 cases reported by private hospitals. The total number of dengue patients currently hospitalized throughout the province now stands at 76.
A breakdown of admissions into public hospitals shows that 22 new patients were received in Hyderabad, while 16 were admitted in the Karachi division.
On a positive note, the official communique confirmed that no fatalities due to dengue were recorded in the province yesterday.
Furthermore, a substantial number of patients have recovered, with 63 individuals discharged from government hospitals and another 44 recovering in private medical centers over the past day.
The Director General of Health Sindh concluded the report by urging citizens to adopt precautionary measures against the virus and to seek immediate medical attention at the nearest hospital if they experience any dengue-related symptoms.
