KARACHI:Chief Secretary Sindh Dr Muhammad Sohail Rajput while instructing the secretaries of all the departments said that all the PC-Is (PC-I is a project documents which covers almost all aspects of the project) for the projects of year 2022-23 should be sent online to the planning and development department for approval instead of paper.

He said this while presiding over an important meeting on Digitization of Planning Process today at Sindh Secretariat. The meeting was attended by the Chairman Planning Board Syed Hassan Naqvi, Secretary General Administration Muhammad Hanif Channa, Secretary Services Muhammad Saleem Rajput, Secretary Finance Sajid Jamal Abro, Secretary Local Government Syed Najam Ahmad Shah and secretaries of all departments.

While briefing the meeting, Chairman Planning Board Syed Hassan Naqvi said that the P and D department had developed a digital software for approval of projects under which all departments would now send online PC-I from their offices for approval of projects for which digital IDs of all secretaries have also been created. Naqvi said that the planning department would also provide training to all secretaries and concerned officers in this regard.

Rajput said that Rs332 billion had been earmarked for development projects in the financial year 2022-23, and there were more than 4,100 development projects in the financial year 2022-23. He added that all secretaries would now be required to submit PC-I online, as the use of technology would increase transparency and the completion of projects could be easily monitored. He directed all the secretaries to complete the projects on time and ensure quality.
