Anti-India demos held in AJK on Indian Republic Day

Muzaffarabad, January 26, 2023 (PPI-OT):On the appeal of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), protest demonstrations were held in different areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, today, to mark the Indian Republic Day as Black Day. According to Kashmir Media Service, the protest demonstrations were organized by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir and Jammu and Kashmir Students and Youth Forum. Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir held a protest demonstration at Burhan Wani Shaheed Chowk in Muzaffarabad in which a large number of people participated. The protesters were holding black flags and were shouting slogans against the Indian troops, Indian fascist Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Government of India. They were also raising high-pitched slogans in favour of freedom and against Indian state terrorism in IIOJK.

Chairman of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, Leader of Opposition in Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly Chaudhry Latif Akbar, AJK government ministers Khawaja Farooq Ahmed, Chaudhry Abdul Rasheed, Parliamentary Secretary Pir Mazhar Shah, Hurriyat leaders Chaudhry Shaheen Iqbal, Abdul Majeed Mir, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Directors of Liberation Commission Raja Aslam Khan, Raja Sajjad Latif Khan, Shaukat Javed Mir, Javed Ahmed Mughal, Rehabilitation Commissioner Chaudhry Mukhtar, Abdul Raziq Khan, refugee leaders Chaudhry Muhammad Mushtaq, Usman Ali Hashim, Muhammad Irshad Butt, Raja Sajeed Khan, Riaz Ahmed Awan and others led the demonstration.

The speakers on the occasion said the Kashmiri people have given a strong message to the world by observing January 26 as Black Day against the illegal military occupation of their homeland by India. The brutal military occupation completely negates India’s claims of being a democratic country, they added. They said that India’s denial of the right to self-determination to the people of Kashmir and the worst war crimes committed in IIOJK badly exposed its false claims of being a democratic country. The speakers said India’s so-called Republic Day brings the worst sufferings to the people of the occupied territory, adding the Kashmiris are observing January 26 as Black Day to expose India’s true face to the world.

India has no right to celebrate the Republic Day and to be called a country because it has illegally occupied the territory of Jammu and Kashmir with its military power, they maintained. The Jammu and Kashmir Students and Youth Forum also organized protest demonstrations in Muzaffarabad and other areas of AJK. The participants of these events raised slogans against Indian brutalities in IIOJK and in favour of freedom. The AJK chapters of Jammu and Kashmir Pir Panjal Freedom Movement and Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Hurriyat Front also organized anti-India demonstrations and rallies in Kotli, Muzaffarabad and other areas of Azad Kashmir to mark the Indian Republic Day as Black Day.
