ASF foils money laundering bid at Peshawar airport

PESHAWAR: Airport Security Force (ASF) on Friday foiled a bid of money laundering at Bacha Khan International Airport in Peshawar by seizing foreign currency worth 10.6 million in Pakistani rupees from a Dubai-bound passenger.

According to the airport sources, the currency was concealed in the bag of the accused identified as Izharul Haq. The currency included 179,100 worth of Saudi riyals, 618,185 worth of UAE dirhams, and 1,546 worth of US dollars. The ASF handed over the accused, and the money recovered from him, to the customs authorities for further investigations.
