Message from Mr. Mamnoon Hussain President of Pakistan on Kashmir Solidarity DayDepartment

Islamabad, February 04, 2018 (PPI-OT):On the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, Pakistan reiterates its unwavering political, moral and diplomatic support to the people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir in their struggle for the realization of the inalienable right to self-determination, in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions. It is a matter of grave concern that Indian occupation forces are resorting to state terrorism, war crimes and intensified human rights violations to suppress the just struggle of the Kashmiri people.

Pakistan, therefore, calls upon the international community to play its due role in seeking an end to the brutalities, violation of human rights and the reign of terror unleashed by Indian forces and force India to fulfill the promises it made with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and International community 70 years ago. The dream of peace and prosperity in the region will remain elusive without resolving this dispute.

Message from Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan on Kashmir Solidarity DayDepartment

Islamabad, February 04, 2018 (PPI-OT):On the Occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, the Government and the people of Pakistan reiterate their continued and steadfast political, moral and diplomatic support to the people of Indian occupied JammuandKashmir in their heroic struggle for their inalienable right to self-determination. The people of JammuandKashmir were promised this right seven decades ago by the international community, however, India has continued to deny them their inalienable right by refusing to implement UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir.

In-spite of barbaric Indian atrocities and apathy on behalf of a large part of the international community, the brave people of Indian occupied JammuandKashmir have demonstrated exemplary resilience and grit in the face of perverse Indian aggression. India has failed miserably to absolve itself of its reprehensible human rights record in occupied JammuandKashmir by labelling it as terrorism. JammuandKashmir is the core dispute between India and Pakistan. Peace in the region will not be achieved until the resolution of this dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the people of JammuandKashmir.

Pakistan reminds the international community, particularly India of its obligations and urges it to fulfill the promise made to the people of JammuandKashmir by implementing the UN Security Council resolutions. On the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, we reiterate our firm and continued moral, diplomatic and political support to the people of IoK in their sacred struggle. Only implementation of United Nations Security Council resolutions can amicably resolve the JammuandKashmir dispute.

Islamabad, February 04, 2018 (PPI-OT):The Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has appealed to the countrymen in general and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA in particular to re-affirm their commitment to be ready to offer any sacrifice for up-holding the just cause of the people of Kashmir and make their long cherished dream of getting freedom from the clutches of Indian occupation materialized. Ensuring complete unity and cohesion in our ranks in this critical juncture of our history is in itself will be of a great source of strength to our Kashmiri brethren and I also appeal my countrymen to be conscious in this connection too.

This he has said in a message on the eve of 5th February; (the Kashmir Day). The complete text of the message is given below: “We as a nation observe 5th February, 2018 as a Day of Solidarity with our Kashmiri brethren who have been struggling for the last 70 years to secure right of self-determination and ultimately achieve their just goal of freedom. The day offers the opportunity to Kashmiri people across the world to realize the world community at large especially the human rights champions about their role not only in mitigating the sufferings of Kashmiri people but also extend moral and diplomatic support to them in their long cherished dreams of getting freedom from the clutches of Indian occupation materialized.

Being the staunch supporters of Kashmiri people in their freedom struggle, we as a Pakistani nation have been offering matchless sacrifices and courageously raising and supporting their just cause at every forum both within the country and abroad. The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA having their comparatively closer practical association with the Kashmiri brethren ever since their basic right of self-determination was usurped by the then Hindu Maharaja at the behest of his Indian mentors 70 years ago still nourishing un-flinching attachment in their hearts and souls for them.

I take this opportunity and appeal to the countrymen in general and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA in particular to re-affirm their commitment to be ready to offer any sacrifice for up-holding the just cause of the people of Kashmir and make their long cherished dream of getting freedom from the clutches of Indian occupation materialized. Ensuring complete unity and cohesion in our ranks in this critical juncture of our history is, in itself, a great source of strength to our Kashmiri brethren and I also appeal to my countrymen to be conscious in this connection too”.

Message from Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Prime Minister of Pakistan on Kashmir Solidarity DayDepartment

Islamabad, February 04, 2018 (PPI-OT):Even after the passage of more than seven decades, the people of JammuandKashmir continue to be deprived of the fundamental right to self-determination in stark contradiction to the promise made to them by the international community through the United Nations Security Council Resolutions. Since July 2016, Indian atrocities have resulted in the killings of hundreds of innocent Kashmiris and injuring over 20,000.

The unprecedented, inhuman use of pellet guns has blinded more than 200 people, including women and young children depriving them of any chance of leading fulfilling lives. The Hurriyat leaders continue to be harassed on trumped up charges. India refused to allow the visit of the team of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission of the OIC (which visited AJK in March 2017) to the Indian Occupied JammuandKashmir thus denying the international community an opportunity to evaluate the situation on the ground. India obviously has much to hide. India is condoning the use of human shields in Indian occupied Kashmir, which finds no parallel in today’s world and reflects its practice of using brute force to suppress innocent Kashmiris.

The people and Government of Pakistan reaffirm their continued unflinching moral, diplomatic and political support to the oppressed people of Indian occupied JammuandKashmir in their legitimate struggle in the face of increasing Indian brutalities and gross human rights violations. Pakistan calls upon the international community to urge India to respect the Human Rights Charter, put an immediate end to the gross human rights violations of innocent Kashmiris in Indian occupied Kashmir and ensure expedited resolution of the JammuandKashmir dispute in line with the UNSC Resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. This is essential for regional peace and development.
