Authorities Bust Illicit Warehouse, Seize Rs138 Million in Contraband

In a major blow to smuggling networks, Customs Enforcement officials have confiscated a substantial cache of illicit goods valued at Rs138 million during a targeted warehouse raid on the city’s periphery, authorities announced Tuesday.

The successful anti-smuggling operation was carried out by the Mobile Squad of Customs Enforcement Quetta. The team acted on credible intelligence that was shared by the Chief Collector Enforcement in Islamabad.

During the raid, which was conducted with the support of other law enforcement agencies, officials discovered a large quantity of illegal items. The diverse assortment of recovered merchandise included assorted cloth, tyres, cigarettes, sheesha flavours, cashew nuts, and human hair.

All the contraband has been taken into official custody by the authorities. Legal proceedings have been launched against the responsible parties under the applicable provisions of the Customs Act, 1969.

Officials stated that the operation is a component of the Collectorate’s intensified campaign against illicit trade in the region. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) lauded the Customs Enforcement Quetta team for the successful raid and reiterated its resolve to curb smuggling throughout the country.
