The Planning and Development Department of Balochistan has been officially classified as an “Essential Service,” thereby requiring its operations to run for five working days weekly, from Monday to Friday, effective immediately.
This directive stems from a notification issued by the provincial Planning and Development Department on Thursday, April 23, 2026. The decree specifically states that the agency has been designated as providing essential public services, according to a report on Thursday.
The official communication clarifies that this decision is a continuation of a prior departmental letter, referenced NO Pand DD-SOA.1(19)2026/280, dated March 11, 2026. It also follows Notification No.SGA(Admin)26-2/2026-Sand GAD, issued by the Services and General Administration Department on April 22, 2026.
Consequently, the department is now instructed to remain operational for a full working week, encompassing Monday through Friday. This new operational schedule takes immediate effect and will continue until superseded by further official directives.
