Reflecting the economic development of Balochistan, under a historic initiative, the province is going to host its first “Balochistan Investment and Trade Expo” next month. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, this event is being held to attract investors and promote a favorable environment for business.
Organized by the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade with the support of the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), this initiative is a strategy to showcase the region’s potential to a global audience. A high-level meeting was convened at BUITEMS today, chaired by Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade Vice Chairman Bilal Khan Kakar, to discuss the logistics and objectives of the expo.
Vice Chairman Kakar highlighted the Chief Minister’s directive to create a welcoming environment for investors and entrepreneurs, emphasizing the importance of dispelling negative perceptions about Balochistan. The government is taking concrete steps to attract youth towards business, and the expo is a key component of this strategy.
BUITEMS Pro Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Mir Waiz Kasi, praised the initiative and acknowledged the full support provided by BUITEMS. He commended Kakar’s efforts being made to promote investment in the province and facilitate the business community.
Chief Executive Officer of the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade, Qaim Lashari, stated that the expo will serve as an invaluable platform for businesses, youth, and emerging entrepreneurs to engage with investors, financial institutions, and industry experts.
BUITEMS Registrar, Dr. Ahsan Achakzai, gave a detailed briefing on the strategic goals, proposed schedule, and framework of the expo, while participants offered suggestions to enhance the event’s effectiveness.
The meeting was attended by key figures, including FPCCI Advisory Board Chairman Mian Zahid Hussain, along with representatives from various sectors, reflecting a collective effort to ensure the success of this groundbreaking event.
