Authorities have initiated a significant crackdown on traffic violations, including one-wheeling and vehicles with tinted glass, as part of a sweeping security enhancement across the federal capital.
Following directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Police have implemented comprehensive security measures aimed at preserving public order and tranquility, according to Capital Police report today.
A flag march, supervised by SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza, was conducted through the city to bolster the effectiveness of the security arrangements and demonstrate a visible police presence.
DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq stated that the police are taking all possible steps to maintain peace, emphasising that the force remains alert to handle any untoward incident.
Security has been tightened at all entry and exit points of the capital. Additionally, the Dolphin squad has increased its patrols in various areas of the city.
All senior police officers have been directed to remain in their respective areas to personally inspect and verify the security posture at duty points. The ongoing enforcement action is also targeting pillion riding and vehicles and motorcycles operating without number plates.
Officials urged citizens to cooperate with personnel during the checking process and to report any suspicious activity to the Pucar-15 emergency helpline, affirming that no stone would be left unturned to secure the lives and property of residents.
