Two residents in the Hujra Shah Muqeem area are facing legal action after being caught illegally stealing electricity from the main power supply. Criminal cases have been registered against them with heavy financial penalties.
This illegal activity was discovered on Saturday during a routine check by a team from the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) Basirpur Sub-Division. The accused have been identified as Muhammad Jaffar, a resident of Shehniwal, and Muhammad Aslam, a resident of Talley Wala Kot, who were stealing electricity by directly connecting wires from LESCO’s Low Tension (LT) line to their homes.
In response to the electricity theft, authorities have imposed a fine of forty-five thousand rupees on each of the two accused.
Furthermore, formal cases have been registered against both individuals at the Hujra Shah Muqeem police station, initiating a criminal investigation into the matter.
