Karachi, March 12, 2018 (PPI-OT): LG Electronics (LG) unveiled its 2018 TV line-up with an array of new and innovative OLED and SUPER UHD models, demonstrating its commitment to leading the global premium TV market. At a launching event in Seoul, LG introduced new TV products featuring the company’s exclusive ThinQ® artificial intelligence (AI) technology and advanced α (Alpha) processor which will lead the way in solidifying LG’s position in the global market for premium TVs, with the market for OLED TVs forecast to see sales of 2.5 million units this year from 1.6 million in 2017.

LG is building upon its legacy as the pioneer of large OLED display technology with the launch of ten new AI-enabled OLED TV models for 2018, including the W8, G8, E8, C8, and B8. With LG’s α (Alpha) 9 intelligent processor powering company’s market leading W8, G8, E8 and C8 OLED TV series, viewers will experience enhanced image rendering and more accurate colours from virtually any viewing angle in addition to perfect black levels, the hallmark of LG’s OLED TVs. And with Dolby Atmos sound and optimal picture quality, this year’s TVs from LG will provide consumers with an immersive viewing experience.

LG’s 2018 AI-enabled SUPER UHD line-up is powered by LG’s α (Alpha) 7, the same powerful processor found in the B8 series. In combination with Nano Cell and FALD backlighting, LG AI-enabled SUPER UHD TVs offer the most advanced LCD picture quality ever with deeper blacks, enhanced image rendering, improved shadow details and accurate colours from the widest viewing angles. To complement the upgraded viewing experience, the new SUPER UHD TVs also support Dolby Atmos for an immersive audio-visual experience.

LG’s newest α (Alpha) 9 intelligent processor provides true-to-life images with incredibly rich colours, sharpness, and depth for more realism. A core innovation of the processor is the four-step process of noise reduction, twice as many steps as conventional techniques. The algorithm allows for greater control to boost the clarity of images affected by distracting artifacts for more effective rendering of smooth gradations.

The processor also improves colour performance with advanced mapping capabilities that bring colours far closer to the original content.α (Alpha) 9 is designed to support a high frame rate (HFR) for producing smoother and clearer motion images at 120 frames per second. Karachi, March 12, 2018 (PPI-OT): JCR-VIS Credit Rating Company Limited (JCR-VIS) has assigned initial entity ratings of ‘BBB-/A-3’ (Triple B Minus/A-Three) to Nadeem Textile Mills Limited (NTML). Outlook on the assigned ratings is ‘Stable’. NTML has been operating in the textile sector for about thirty three years since 1984. The company is primarily engaged in manufacturing and sales of yarn, for both local and international markets through two spinning units. The spinning mills are located in Nooriabad and Kotri, Sindh.

Rating assigned to NTML takes into account improvement in profitability and considerable sponsors support throughout the business cycles. Moreover, the company’s corporate governance has also been considered positively. The board composition is considered adequate in terms of regulatory compliance. Furthermore, in line with best practices and independent director chairs the Board Audit Committee.

NTML’s sales over the last three years have witnessed a slight shift from international to local market owing to unfavourable yarn prices in export market. During FY16 the comparatively old nature of machinery installed in Unit II led to limitation in quality of yarn, additionally negative trend of the industry further aggravated loss in FY16. Subsequently, quality issues have been addressed through addition/replacement of certain machinery. Furthermore, due to favourable price adjustments, profitability has witnessed recovery with minimal profits in FY17.

Sponsor support is exhibited by interest free loan extended to NTML by associates and a director of the company. This has led to leverage indicators being manageable. Gearing has improved to 1.4x (FY16: 1.6x) in FY17 on the back of advance against share capital. The same also led to decrease in leverage to 2.5x (FY16: 2.6x) in FY17. Going forward, the maintenance of loan from associates along with successful implementation of the Balancing, Modernization and Replacement (BMR) project is considered important in order to maintain the risk profile of the company.

Karachi, March 09, 2018 (PPI-OT): In accordance to Exchange’s drive to educate, aware and built a strong brand perception with potential investors merely young middle class Pakistanis, a mock Trading session over a week long known as STOCKCHALLENGE has been organized by PSX for awareness on capital market and investment avenues at SZABIST Hyderabad campus that had a turnout of over a 100 participants from the business school.

PSX is planning to conduct similar mock trading drills in Sindh University-Jamshoro campus which is expected to have participants of 200-300 number of students. The office of the Exchange has been conducting interactive mock trading sessions on Pakistani capital market in various business schools for which responses have been overwhelmingly positive with such mock sessions previously carried at LUMS, IBA, Karachi University, Iqra University, Foundation University, FAST and NUST.
