Man killed over land dispute

KHANEWAL: A man was killed by his relative over a land issue in Chak 169/10-R within Sader Police jurisdiction on Tuesday.   According to police sources, Muhammad Imran had a land dispute with his relatives namely Amean and Tahir. On the day of incident, Amean and Tahir exchanged harsh words with Muhammad Imran and opened fired, killing him on the spot.   Rescue 1122 and concerned police after getting information about the incident reached the spot shifted the body to (DHQ) hospital for autopsy. The police registered a case against nominate accused under section 302 and started investigation.

Four, including three Chinese, killed in KU blast

KARACHI: Four people, including three Chinese nationals, were killed and two others injured as a van caught fire after explosion near Confucius Institute at University of Karachi on Tuesday.   According to a report, Chinese teachers were coming from hostel to the Department of Confucius Studies in a van when the blast took place. The van caught after the explosion near the Confucius Institute, a non-profit institute teaching Chinese language to local pupils. Two injured in separate firing incidents

KARACHI: Two people were shot and injured in separate incidents in the city in early hours of Friday.   According to rescue sources, a 55-year-old man, Asif Iqbal, son of Ghulam Sarwar, was shot injured by robbers over resistance in Port Qasim area. As a result, he sustained severe bullet injuries and rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for treatment.   Separately, a security guard, Azhar Iqbal, aged 35, son of Ali Akbar was shot injured by the firing of other security guard namely Meer Hassan at Jabbar Steel mills Sher Shah. The injured was shifted to JPMC for treatment while the accused Meer Hasan has been arrested by police.

Youth killed, two females injured in separate incidents in megalopolis

KARACHI:  A youth was drowned and two females were injured in separate incidents in different areas of Karachi on Wednesday.   According to rescue sources, a girl, Fatima, aged 10, and a woman, Anaika, 35, were injured in a road accident near Abtak TV channel office in Gudam Chowrangi area of Karachi. They were brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment.   In another incident, Syed Mohammad Ali, aged 25, son of Iqbal Pasha, was drowned in a tank near Continental Bakery in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities and later handed over to the heirs. The incident has created a mourning atmosphere among the family members and relatives.

Police nabs two street criminals, recovered looted amount, gold

KARACHI:  The Karachi police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two street criminals and recovered 0.2 million and thirty thousand rupees and golden rings snatched from a citizen.   According to police sources, the police team conducted a raid on a tip-off near Bawan Shah Shrine Ghazi Dawood Brohi Goth and arrested two street criminals identified as Mohammad Saqib and Mohammad Ismail.   The police claimed to have recovered two lac and thirty thousand rupees and gold rings from the possession of arrested accused. ATC orders JIT formation in Monika rape-murder case

KHAIRPUR: Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) Khairpur on Tuesday directed IG Sindh and DIG Sukkur Range Police to form a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in the rape and murder case of Monika Larik within 15 days.   The court conducted the hearing of the case in which accused were produced from central jail. On the application of Monika's parent. ATC judge Naeem Malik passed orders to IGP Sindh Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar and DIG Sukkur Range Police to form JIT in the rape and murder case within 15 days.   The parents expressed dissatisfaction over the investigation conducted by Khairpur police in the case.   It may be noted that an eight-year-old girl, Monika, was murdered after rape on 11 Jan 2021 near Pir Jo Goth.
