PM: (Govt making all out efforts to provide efficient healthcare services to people: PM)

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that the federal government is making all out efforts to provide efficient healthcare services.

He was addressing the 2nd Liver Transplant Symposium titled ‘A Medical Marvel’ held by Shifa International Hospital to celebrate the successful 660 liver transplant surgeries by the hospital since 2012.

The prime minister said the provision of healthcare services is one of the top obligations of the government which it had been fulfilling despite resource and constitutional constraints.

He told the gathering that the government had recently adopted a National Hepatitis Strategic Framework to address the prevention and treatment of viral hepatitis nationally.

Realizing the severity of the prevalence of the hepatitis in the country, Prime Minister Abbasi urged both the federal and provincial governments to join their hands against the disease. Later, the prime minister also gave away shields to local and foreigner doctors to recognize their contributions in liver transplant surgery.

Minister: (Indian state terrorism in IOK threat to regional peace: Barjees)

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Mohammad Barjees Tahir has said that India’s state terrorism in Occupied Kashmir is a serious threat to regional peace.

In a statement issued on Sunday, he said India is carrying out genocide of Kashmiris through extra judicial killings to change demography of the area. Barjees Tahir said Kashmir issue can only be resolved in light of UN Security Council’s resolutions.

He urged the international community to play its due role for resolution of long standing issue of Kashmir.

Edu: (Air University to conduct Open House 2018 on Tuesday)

ISLAMABAD: Air University has announced to conduct annual Open House on Tuesday at Main Campus, Islamabad.

According to a statement issued here, the event will be featured with the industry meet up and range of technological and engineering projects exhibition of graduating students of Air University.

On the occasion, Air University students will demonstrate their talent in the areas of information technology, robotics and industrial automation, healthcare, power sector, energy sector, telecom sector, electronics industry etc.

“It is hoped that industry presence in the event would strengthen industry-academia partnership for bridging the gap between education and economy,” the statement further said, adding that the Open House would also help to explore joint opportunities to design low-cost business and industrial solutions for local industry.

The Open House will include display and demonstration of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering final year projects (FYPs) for general public, parents, media, business and technology organizations, R&D institutions, industry professionals, entrepreneurs, angel investors, and venue capitalists, etc.

Bilawal denounces series of target-killings of police in DIK

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has strongly condemned series of target-killings of police and citizens in Dera Ismail Khan since last fortnight.

In a statement issued here, the PPP Chairman criticized the criminal silence adopted by KPK government over these horrific terrorism acts being inflicted on the people and the law enforcing agencies, including police.

Reports suggest that more than a dozen people have fallen victim to target-killings and ambushes. But there is no word from KP Chief Minister neither any government official on these brutal killings nor any compensation was announced for the victims’ families, he added.

Bilawal expressed grave concern over the fact that KP government had shunned the people of Dera Ismail Khan and left them at the mercy of extremists and terrorists to hunt them like ducks. The PPP chairman demanded protection to the people against terrorism and adequate compensation to the families of all the martyred.

IOK: (Indian troops martyr four more Kashmiri youth in Srinagar)

ISLAMABAD: In occupied Kashmir, the Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred four more Kashmiri youth in Srinagar, on Saturday during a violent cordon and search operation in Chattabal area.

Meanwhile, the puppet authorities have detained senior resistance leaders, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik, in Srinagar to prevent them from addressing a press conference on Saturday.

According to the Kashmir Media Service, the Indian police arrested Mohammad Yasin Malik after raiding his residence and shifted him to Kothibagh Police Station. They have also put Syed Ali Gilani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest.

The resistance leaders were scheduled to address a press conference in Srinagar today to announce a strategy to carry forward the ongoing freedom movement in the face of stepped up Indian state terrorism in the occupied territory.

OIC: (OIC Council of Foreign Ministers Conference begins in Dhaka)

ISLAMABAD: A two-day conference of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers begins in Dhaka on Saturday.

The theme of the meeting is “Islamic Values for Sustainable Peace, Solidarity and Development”. The Ministers will focus on the issue of the Rohingya Muslim minority.

Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua is leading Pakistan’s delegation to 45th OIC Council of Foreign Ministers meeting beginning in Dhaka on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Bangladeshi government organized a visit of OIC heads of delegation to Cox’s Bazar, which hosts the largest Rohingya refugee camp. The Foreign Secretary interacted with refugees and assured them of Pakistan’s support in their hour of misery.

Rally: (Tribal elders organized rally in favour of Pak Army)

ISLAMABAD: Tribal elders and workers from different political parties organized a rally in favour of Pak. Army in Dalbandin, Chagai on Saturday.

A large number of people carrying national flags marched on road and chanted slogans in favour of Pak Army.

The rally was led by Tribal figure Mir Sanaullah Notezai, who criticized anti-state elements and acknowledged the sacrifices of Pak Army against terrorism across the country.
