Politics: (PML-N to win 2018 polls with a bigger margin: PM)

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has expressed confidence that with an exceptional performance over the past five years in government, the PML-N would win with a bigger margin in the 2018 general election.

While addressing a public gathering at Narh in Kahuta, he said that PML-N government has completed various development projects including motorways, roads, highways, power and gas projects, schools and hospitals.’

The Prime Minister said the development work carried out during the tenure of present government has no precedent in country’s history.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said the continuity of democracy is essential for progress of the country and welfare and prosperity of its people.

PM: (PM to give cash awards to Commonwealth Games medallists on Thursday)

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will give away cash awards to five medal winning athletes of the recently held Commonwealth Games in a reception on Thursday next.

According to a spokesman of Pakistan Sports Board, the entire Pakistan contingent which participated in the Commonwealth Games in Australia as well as the presidents and secretaries of all national federations will also attend the ceremony.

Wrestler Mohammad Inam (86kg) won a gold medal for Pakistan in the Games while wrestlers Mohammad Bilal (57kg) and Tayyab Raza (125kg), weightlifter Nooh Dastagir Butt in 105kg and Talha Talib in 62kg won bronze medals.

Gold medalist Inam will be given five million rupees while bronze medallists will be given one million each.

Bilawal denounces series of target-killings of police in DIK

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has strongly condemned series of target-killings of police and citizens in Dera Ismail Khan since last fortnight.

In a statement issued here, the PPP Chairman criticized the criminal silence adopted by KPK government over these horrific terrorism acts being inflicted on the people and the law enforcing agencies, including police.

Reports suggest that more than a dozen people have fallen victim to target-killings and ambushes. But there is no word from KP Chief Minister neither any government official on these brutal killings nor any compensation was announced for the victims’ families, he added.

Bilawal expressed grave concern over the fact that KP government had shunned the people of Dera Ismail Khan and left them at the mercy of extremists and terrorists to hunt them like ducks. The PPP chairman demanded protection to the people against terrorism and adequate compensation to the families of all the martyred.

IOK: (Indian troops martyr four more Kashmiri youth in Srinagar)

ISLAMABAD: In occupied Kashmir, the Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred four more Kashmiri youth in Srinagar, on Saturday during a violent cordon and search operation in Chattabal area.

Meanwhile, the puppet authorities have detained senior resistance leaders, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik, in Srinagar to prevent them from addressing a press conference on Saturday.

According to the Kashmir Media Service, the Indian police arrested Mohammad Yasin Malik after raiding his residence and shifted him to Kothibagh Police Station. They have also put Syed Ali Gilani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest.

The resistance leaders were scheduled to address a press conference in Srinagar today to announce a strategy to carry forward the ongoing freedom movement in the face of stepped up Indian state terrorism in the occupied territory.

OIC: (OIC Council of Foreign Ministers Conference begins in Dhaka)

ISLAMABAD: A two-day conference of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers begins in Dhaka on Saturday.

The theme of the meeting is “Islamic Values for Sustainable Peace, Solidarity and Development”. The Ministers will focus on the issue of the Rohingya Muslim minority.

Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua is leading Pakistan’s delegation to 45th OIC Council of Foreign Ministers meeting beginning in Dhaka on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Bangladeshi government organized a visit of OIC heads of delegation to Cox’s Bazar, which hosts the largest Rohingya refugee camp. The Foreign Secretary interacted with refugees and assured them of Pakistan’s support in their hour of misery.

Rally: (Tribal elders organized rally in favour of Pak Army)

ISLAMABAD: Tribal elders and workers from different political parties organized a rally in favour of Pak. Army in Dalbandin, Chagai on Saturday.

A large number of people carrying national flags marched on road and chanted slogans in favour of Pak Army.

The rally was led by Tribal figure Mir Sanaullah Notezai, who criticized anti-state elements and acknowledged the sacrifices of Pak Army against terrorism across the country.
