In a significant reaffirmation of their strategic alliance, China and Pakistan have committed to advancing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and deepening their “ironclad” friendship, leveraging China’s forthcoming 15th Five-Year Plan to foster greater economic integration and shared prosperity.

The pledge was a central outcome of the Sangam Gala 2025, an event convened by the Embassy of China in Pakistan on Friday to celebrate and bolster the enduring relationship between the two nations. The gathering brought together a diverse group of leaders and representatives from across Pakistan.

High-profile attendees included the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, Federal Minister for Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, and Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, who serves as the Chairman of the Pakistan-China Institute.

An official statement confirmed that the event saw extensive participation from all four of Pakistan’s provinces-Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and Balochistan. The delegates represented a wide array of sectors, including government, politics, religious communities, academic think tanks, and the media.

During interactive sessions, attendees shared their experiences with bilateral partnership, exchanged valuable insights on national development, and reflected on the deep-rooted historical connections between the two countries. The dialogue also explored future prospects for collaboration amid an evolving regional and global landscape.

Discussions highlighted that the ongoing modernization efforts in both nations have created broad opportunities for joint ventures. China’s 15th Five-Year Plan was presented as a key framework for enhancing CPEC and promoting a more inclusive form of economic globalization through high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.

Concluding the gala, representatives from both sides reaffirmed their unwavering resolve to deepen practical cooperation. They emphasized a shared commitment to carrying forward their historic friendship and working in unison for a brighter, collective future.
