The Sindh government is implementing a zero-tolerance policy against illegal constructions and is taking indiscriminate action against rule violators to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
This was informed by Provincial Minister for Local Government Nasir Hussain Shah while addressing the 6th PropTech Convention at the Expo Centre toay. The minister stated that the provincial administration was overhauling the taxation system, documentation processes, and compliance mechanisms within the real estate sector to foster greater transparency and strengthen investor confidence.
He emphasised that sustainable urban development remained a primary objective for the Sindh government, with quality, trust, and long-term value being established as core principles for all residential and commercial projects.
Mr Shah highlighted the PropTech Convention as an effective and credible platform that integrates policy-making, modern technology, and investment in the property sector, contributing significantly to a modern and sustainable real estate ecosystem in Pakistan.
The provincial minister noted that alongside regulatory reforms, the government is taking practical measures to advance technology-driven systems, including digital records, transparent monitoring, and online approval mechanisms.
He said that robust collaboration among the government, builders, developers, and the real estate sector was indispensable for achieving integrated urban planning in a megacity like Karachi.
Concluding his address, Mr Shah added that forums like the PropTech Convention were instrumental not only in creating new investment opportunities but also in generating employment and attracting international investors, which serves as a positive development for the national economy.
