Citywide Operations Lead to Screening of Over 500, Dozens Detained in Capital

Capital law enforcement agencies have conducted widespread search operations across the city, resulting in the screening of over 546 individuals and the temporary detention of 30 suspicious persons for subsequent verification.

According to a report today, these heightened security drives were initiated under the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, as the Islamabad Police intensified efforts to curb crime and apprehend offenders within the federal capital.

The extensive search and combing operations were meticulously carried out under the supervision of SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza, with continuous oversight provided by the respective zonal Superintendents of Police.

During these rigorous sweeps, personnel scrutinised a total of 546 individuals, inspected 248 residences, examined 29 hotels, and checked 326 motorbikes along with 123 other vehicles.

Concurrently, 30 individuals identified as suspicious, 33 motorbikes, and one vehicle were transported to local police stations for more thorough verification processes.

SSP Operations Islamabad affirmed that the primary objective of these ongoing security initiatives is to tighten controls on lawbreakers and bolster overall public safety throughout the urban area.

Such enforcement activities are being conducted systematically across different districts, as the Islamabad Police continues its resolute action against criminals, illegal land occupiers, and drug traffickers. Members of the public are urged to promptly report any suspicious behaviour or incidents to their nearest police facility or to contact the emergency helpline ‘Pucaar-15’.
