Civil society to play their due role to discharge citizen social responsibilities for resolve of social issue and problems: Jameel Yusuf

Karachi, June 27, 2018 (PPI-OT): Sindh Caretaker Minister for Information, Law and Environment Jameel Yusuf has stressed upon civil society to play their due role to discharge Citizen social responsibilities (CSR) for resolve of social issue and problems, Media is our partner to support the task and join hands with the civil society to achieve desired results of the cause.

This he observed during a meeting held with the more than 30 representatives of social society experts and philanthropists at his office Sindh Assembly Committee Room here today. Mr. Jameel Yusuf has said that we are collectively work for the resolve of issues pertaining to Environment, Special education, Prisons, etc through playing an individual role towards CSR.

He further said that during the short tenure of the caretaker Government setup, we are gathered here to short list the social issues towards resolving in collaboration of the government agencies and organization to get better results. Civil society must raise their voice and get due share in media to highlight and resolve such issues. Laws are there, but implementation is very poor, no body followed it to enforce these laws, we have to change the laws with the support of civil society recommendations and suggestions for the betterment of common men. Civil society and media could together play their positive role to help out us in this regard.

The dialogue by Experts and philanthropists were gave their valuable input in their respective sectors, suggested that to resolve the social issue related to environment and other sectors, we should have policy on coal and ash coal, lifting of garbage, better environment standards, massive tree plantation and its sustainability, marriage of young girls, harassment and torture on women, increase of population, saving of energy, air pollution, clean water altered into polluted, rehabilitation of canals and small water pots, save the Malir Naddi, Opening of Nahar-e- Khayam, uploading of environment index assessment etc.
