Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Monday chaired a joint meeting with the P and D, Finance, and Works departments to assess the progress of various development initiatives throughout the province, as reported by a government representative.
The meeting, which took place at the CM House, saw the attendance of several provincial ministers and senior officials.
During the session, the Coastal Highway Project was a focal point. The Chief Minister recalled that citizens in Thatta had requested quicker progress during his recent visit. He acknowledged the preliminary phase of the 36-kilometre highway and urged the Works Department to expedite efforts, noting its significance for traffic facilitation and protection against sea intrusion.
In the SITE Karachi Roads project, the CM noted the ongoing construction worth Rs5 billion, with Rs500 million already released. He pushed for the project”s completion within the new fiscal year.
The meeting also covered the reconstruction of 1,800 flood-damaged schools under the Prime Minister’s program, jointly funded by Sindh and the federal government. With a total allocation of Rs12 billion and tenders finalized, Murad Ali Shah directed the immediate release of funds to start construction.
Furthermore, the CM reviewed the Rohri to Guddu Barrage Road project, a 150-kilometre link via the M-5 Interchange, and approved the release of Rs. 5 billion for this fiscal year. For the Tando Allahyar to Tando Adam Road dualization, valued at Rs9.2 billion, he allocated Rs1 billion and instructed the commencement of work.
Shah stressed the urgency of completing these projects, underscoring their role in enhancing the province”s infrastructure and connectivity.
