Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) informed today that during the next 24 hours mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country with rain and snowfall on hills in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, and south-north and south-west Balochistan.
According to a statement by PMD, shallow fog is expected to persist in many districts of Punjab and upper Sindh during the morning and night hours.
Over the past 24 hours, cold and partly cloudy weather prevailed in most regions. Rain and snowfall were recorded at isolated places in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Upper Punjab, and Kashmir.
The rainfall data indicated that Patan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa received the highest rainfall of 14mm, followed by Malam Jabba and Chitral with 12mm each. Other areas like Dir, Balakot, Drosh, Kakul, and Saidu Sharif also received significant rainfall.
Snowfall was recorded in Kalam, Malam Jabba, and Astor, with Kalam experiencing the highest snowfall at 9 inches.
The lowest minimum temperatures were recorded in Leh at -09°C, with Skardu, Gopis, Hunza, Astor, and Kalam also experiencing sub-zero temperatures.
