LAHORE:Several petitions against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan were submitted to the Lahore High Court on Saturday.

The petitions were filed by Bashir Ahmad Chohan, Mashkoor Hussain, Naeem Qamar Advocate and Nadeem Sarwar Advocate. According to petitioners, PTI Chief Imran Khan appeared before the courts on Friday in the shape of groups and committed contempt of court.

The petitioners further accused the former prime minister of making common the tradition of getting favourable court decisions forcibly by hurling threats. They also accused him of dividing the judiciary even after getting judgements in his favour. The petitions stated that the PTI chief tried to make court decisions that were against him controversial on social media.

Imran and his followers created a ruckus outside the Lahore High Court and Islamabad High Court on purpose so that Imran could skip the court hearings, the petitions added. The petitions prayed with the court to initiate contempt proceedings against PTI Chief Imran Khan for storming the Islamabad Judicial Complex along with his supporters, damaging the government buildings and appearing before the court while raising slogans.
