KARACHI: The Healthcare Devices Association of Pakistan (HDAP) has expressed concern over the delay in issuing SROs on medical devices for tax relief used in the diagnosis and treatment of corona.
HDAP spokesman said that due to non-issuance of SROs, the consignment of the importers were stuck in customs which lead to difficulties in the supply of medical equipment and there was a fear of increase in prices. In the recent budget, it was decided to continue the practice exemption for Medical Devices related to the treatment of Corona disease, but the government could not issue SROs even after three weeks. It will create dangerous situation for Corona patients.
The spokesman said that medical devices related to corona were exempted from sales tax and income tax last year, which had expired recently.
