Dar Demands Strict Legal Compliance and Fair Play in National Privatisation Process

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar today issued a firm directive to government officials, demanding the execution of all privatisation transactions strictly in accordance with the law and guaranteeing a level-playing field for every participant involved in the process.

The instruction was given during a high-level meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Privatisation, which Mr Dar chaired in the capital on Tuesday.

During the session, the committee received a comprehensive briefing from the Privatisation Commission and the Ministry of Privatisation, which outlined the current state of the national privatisation programme.

The committee undertook an extensive review of the entire procedure followed by the Privatisation Commission and meticulously scrutinised its recommendations.

In its concluding remarks, the committee underscored the critical need for strict adherence to government-established policies, laws, and procedures. It also stressed the importance of employing the best international practices to ensure transparency and effectiveness in all future divestments.
