Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is set to co-chair a high-level strategic dialogue in Brussels, a pivotal meeting aimed at a comprehensive review of the entire spectrum of relations between Pakistan and the European Union, covering critical areas of security, trade, and political cooperation.
According to a statement from the Foreign Office on Wednesday, Senator Dar’s official trip from November 19-21 comes at the invitation of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas. He will co-chair the 7th session of the Pakistan-EU Strategic Dialogue, which is recognized as the foremost institutional engagement between the two partners.
The upcoming session will undertake a thorough assessment of the progress made under the Pakistan-EU Strategic Engagement Plan of 2019. The discussions will span a wide array of sectors, including political ties, economic collaboration, security matters, trade relations, and development initiatives.
While in the Belgian capital, the Deputy Prime Minister will also participate in the 4th EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum. This event will provide a platform for him to interact with his counterparts from various EU member states and Indo-Pacific nations.
Several bilateral meetings with senior European Union officials have also been scheduled on the sidelines of the forum. The diplomatic mission underscores Islamabad’s commitment to bolstering its multifaceted partnership with the EU and advancing mutually beneficial collaboration across diverse fields.
