Day-by-day increasing inflation has made life difficult for the poor masses: Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh

Jamaat-e-Islami has condemned the widespread hunger and lawlessness in Sindh and has said that the day-by-day increasing inflation has made life difficult for the poor masses. To tackle these issues, it has announced a large public gathering in Lahore next month. Ameer Sindh Kashif Saeed Sheikh, in a statement today, emphasized that the people of the resource-rich province are now struggling for two square meals a day due to systemic failures.

Sheikh attributed the province’s poverty and deprivation to poor governance, deep-rooted corruption, and the feudal wadera-shahi system. He pointed out the paradox that a region rich in natural resources like oil, gas, and coal still has its people suffering from severe hardships.

Sheikh declared the People’s Party administration a failure, saying, “Governments change repeatedly, but the conditions in Sindh do not.” He pointed out that back-breaking inflation has made life miserable for the poor, while unemployment and a poor law and order situation have engulfed the province. He added, “Unfortunately, the rulers are busy with their luxuries while there is no one to look after the poor masses.”

The Jamaat-e-Islami leader explained that on one hand, anarchy is rampant throughout Sindh, while on the other, millions of people are suffering from severe distress and misery due to economic hardship. He said that life has become particularly difficult for the working class and accused the Sindh government of failing to protect the basic rights of its citizens.

Urging the public to reject what he called the “repeatedly tested corrupt feudal lords, chieftains, and politicians,” Sheikh appealed to the people of Sindh to support honest leadership to solve their problems. He announced that thousands of youth, women, and children from across the province will travel to attend the Jamaat-e-Islami’s public convention at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore from November 21 to 23.
