Delegation of ICMA meets Governor Sindh, emphasizes financial transparency and promotion of quality professional education

An important meeting was held today at the Governor House where a delegation led by the President of the Pakistan Institute of Cost and Management Accountants (ICMA Pakistan), Azeem Hussain Siddiqui, discussed the need for financial transparency and the development of quality professional education with the Governor of Sindh, Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi.

Prominent members of the delegation, Aamir Ijaz Khan, Hakeem Ali Jatoi, and Asim Hussain Khan, provided information about the current achievements of ICMA Pakistan. President Siddiqui stated that the institution is training 17,000 students across various campuses nationwide, and the global demand for its professionally qualified accountants is increasing.

Governor Sindh, Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi, emphasized that ICMA Pakistan should establish strong relationships with industries to provide students with practical skills and enhance their employment opportunities. He said that professional accountants play a crucial role in curbing corruption, promoting financial transparency, and safeguarding national assets.

Governor Hashmi stressed that ensuring financial discipline and preventing the misuse of national resources are the fundamental responsibilities of professional accountants. Highlighting the great potential of Pakistan’s young generation, he advocated for providing quality education, modern skills, and robust opportunities.

Furthermore, he proposed the introduction of accounting education at the secondary school level to enhance students’ financial literacy, responsibility, and planning capabilities. Governor Hashmi stated that aligning professional education with modern requirements can lay the foundation for Pakistan’s economic development and sustainable prosperity.
