KARACHI:Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce and Cooperative Department Jam Ikramullah Dharejo has said that in order to avoid fatal accidents, it is necessary to eliminate encroachments on drains located in SITE.
The SITE department has immediately cancelled the permits issued to car parking, sheds, K-Electric, Sui Gas, Karachi Water Board operators around these drains. He said this while talking to media during inspecting drain work on Morro Gul Bai Sher Shah Nalla and reviewing ongoing relief work on Sher Shah Paracha Chowk Nalla along with MD SITE Munawar Mahesar, Deputy Commissioner Kemari Mukhtiar Abro and other concerned officers.
Dharejo also directed action against encroachments along the drains. He further said that encroachments on drains/nallahs must be removed. Drain cleaning is also important to prevent a fatal accident. He said that in this regard the people should cooperate with the government because without their cooperation it would not be possible. Dharejo said that protection of life and property of the people is our main priority. He said that the Sindh government was committed to provide relief to the people.
