Former Malaysian Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, has reaffirmed the strengthening relationship between Pakistan and Malaysia, highlighting shared principles and cooperation as cornerstones of their bond.
In a address for the Pakistan-Malaysia Friendship Association’s (PMFA) 4th Appreciation Awards Ceremony, Dr. Mahathir conveyed congratulations and emphasized the significance of mutual respect and joint initiatives in various fields, according to a statement issued today. He expressed gratitude for the well-wishes he received from Pakistanis on his recent 100th birthday.
The former Prime Minister acknowledged PMFA President Shahid Jawed Qureshi’s dedication to promoting amity between the nations. He lauded the PMFA”s 19-year history, stating its longevity validates its claim as a genuine friendship association. Dr. Mahathir recognized the PMFA’s role in uniting business figures, experts, and innovators, boosting bilateral trade, investment, and interpersonal links.
He advocated for continued cultivation of Pakistan-Malaysia relations, grounded in shared trust and a positive outlook. He stressed the importance of leveraging fresh prospects and tackling common difficulties to maintain meaningful and impactful ties.
In turn, PMFA President Shahid Jawed Qureshi expressed gratitude for Dr. Mahathir”s message and echoed the solidity of the Pakistan-Malaysia partnership.
Qureshi advocated for joint efforts to broaden trade prospects, investigate new economic pathways, and improve collaboration in areas of shared interest. He believes joint initiatives and a unified vision are crucial for elevating the friendship to new levels.
