Pakistan has reiterated its commitment to backing regional and global initiatives aimed at peacefully resolving the Ukraine crisis.
This declaration was made by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Tariq Fatemi, during a United Nations Security Council session on Ukraine held in New York.
Fatemi emphasized Pakistan”s unwavering stance that a military approach is not the answer to the Ukraine situation. He urged all involved parties to exercise restraint, strictly observe international humanitarian regulations, and take concrete steps towards de-escalation.
The Special Assistant welcomed the ongoing political dialogue, particularly the direct discussions between Russia and Ukraine facilitated by the US President. He expressed hope that these diplomatic endeavors would lead to a swift end to the conflict. Fatemi stated Pakistan is optimistic that these initiatives will yield positive results.
