KARACHI: Acting Governor Sindh Agha Siraj Durrani on Wednesday inaugurated a free medical camp in Garhi Yasin in district Shikarpur, which has been established by the dignitaries of the area under self-help basis.
At the camp, free treatment and medicines are being provided to hundreds of rain and flood affectees, according to a handout issued today. Talking to media on this occasion, the acting governor Sindh said that such more medical camps would be established. He said that they were facing different challenges aftermath of the floods that have destroyed many villages and crops while Garhi Yassen in the district had suffered heavy losses, where 70% of the houses had been destroyed.
Durrani says that the flood water was still stagnant there, due to which skin and stomach diseases were spreading rapidly among the people. The floods have rendered thousands of people homeless who have been settled at different schools, camps and tent cities where they are being provided with ration and medicines, Durrani added.
