Bannu: Eight militants were killed in two separate military operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the past week, The operations also resulted in the deaths of two Pakistani soldiers, Sepoy Iftikhar Hussain and Captain Muhammad Zohaib Ud Din, who were recognized for their bravery in combat.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, an intelligence-based operation was executed in the Baka Khel area of Bannu District targeting the presence of militants. The operation led to the killing of five militants and injuries to nine others. During the firefight, Sepoy Iftikhar Hussain was killed.
In a separate operation in the Shagai area of Khyber District, three militants were killed and two were captured by security forces. Captain Muhammad Zohaib Ud Din, who was leading his troops, also lost his life during the exchange of fire. Both operations targeted militants implicated in various terrorist activities against military forces and civilians.
Sanitization efforts continue in the affected areas to eradicate any remaining threats. The security forces reiterated their commitment to combating terrorism and acknowledged the sacrifices of their soldiers in strengthening their resolve.
