A gathering of prominent scholars and professionals has underscored the critical role of archival research in preserving Pakistan’s cultural legacy and understanding Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s deep historical ties to Sindh.
The discussion took place during a workshop titled “Quaid-e-Azam: Sindh and Pakistan,” convened by the Sindh Archives, Government of Sindh, according to a statement today. The session was chaired by Dr Humaira Naz, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of History at the University of Karachi.
The event drew a notable assembly of academics, government officials, and intellectuals whose participation enriched the proceedings. Key participants included Sarfaraz Rajar, the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for the Archives Department, and Zahid Abbas Akhund, Director of Sindh Archives.
Also contributing to the discourse were esteemed figures such as renowned scholar Madad Ali Sindhi, Dr Muhammad Ali Manghi, former Director General for Culture and Colleges, and several university professors including Dr Intikhab Ulfat, Dr Amna Soomro, Ms Sabiyah Sangi, and Mr Kashif Mahesar, alongside legal expert and PhD scholar A. B. Lashari.
The Sindh Archives concluded the programme by reiterating its dedication to fostering historical awareness, supporting academic inquiry, and encouraging intellectual dialogue regarding the nation”s heritage.
