National Conference President Farooq Abdullah has reiterated the right to statehood for occupied Jammu and Kashmir and said that they don’t want to accept the union territory status.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Farooq Abdullah in a statement issued in Srinagar said, ‘We don’t want to accept the Union Territory status. The time has come, it should be finished now.’
He further said preparations are being done for the Panchayat elections and it will be conducted soon. The territory was bifurcated into union territories following repeal of Article 370 by the Modi regime in August 2019.
