KARACHI:Administrator Karachi, Sindh government’s Spokesman and CM Advisor on Law Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Saturday said that it was necessary to work together for the betterment and development of Karachi.

“The PPP is a bouquet in which people from every region of Pakistan are present. We believe in impartial and selfless service. According to the vision of Sindh government, I have focused on open public space, parks and playgrounds,” the administrator expressed these views while addressing the ground breaking ceremony of five development projects at UC Gharibabad Khokhrapar Malir.

Member Provincial Assembly Muhammad Saleem Baloch, PPP Malir District President Salman Abdullah Murad, PPP Senior Leaders Muhammad Riaz Baloch, Jan Muhammad Baloch, Mir Abbas Talpur, Murtaza Yar Muhammad, Pir Siddique Shah, People’s Youth Mir Ayub Baloch, District Malir Administrator Riaz Khatri, Karachi Neighborhood Improvement Project PD Nazir Memon and other officials were also present on the occasion.

The administrator Karachi said that foundation stone had been laid for five projects at Khokhrapar Malir at a cost of Rs1.25 billion which would be completed by November 2022. The projects include four parks, a football ground and a cricket ground while a total of 11 km of roads and lanes will be constructed. Besides the construction of roads and streets, sewerage and drainage system, sidewalks and street lights will also be amongst priorities.

He said that District Malir had been given the biggest package, adding KNIP was working hard. “Korangi, Malir and South are the districts which were included in Karachi Neighborhood Improvement Project and when these projects started, the elected representatives of these areas came to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and Sindh Chief Minister regarding development works,” he added.

Barrister said that PPP leadership welcomed them and today more than 18 development projects are under construction in the three districts. He said that 100 percent funds are available for these construction projects.

The administrator said that the provincial government could have announced an eyewash package of Rs1100 billion like Imran Khan, but the PPP believes in fulfillment of promises. Wahab said that they wanted to start projects with adequate funds so that they can be completed on time.

“Work is always based on resources, we can start thousands of projects by allocating 10% funds for each project but they will not be completed even after 10 years,” he added. He said that the ongoing development projects in Ibrahim Haideri, Sherpao Colony, Boat Basin, Kakri Ground and Gizri’s old football stadium would be completed by November.

He said that there was not a single PPP MPA, MNA or senator in Korangi but they built 8000 roads, 12000 roads, 14000 roads, bridges, Fishermen’s Square and open space and presented gifts to the citizens. Barrister said that Mehran Highway was in a state of disrepair for a long time, adding that the PPP government took it up and will complete the Mehran Highway by the end of 2022 at a cost of Rs 1.25 billion.

“I have no information about the my replacement or removal of Syed Nasir Hussain Shah from the post of from the post of local government minister. We are continuing our work on the direction of the party,” the Karachi administrator said in response to a media question.

The administrator said that encroachment is a big problem in the city, but the 40-year-old issues can be resolved immediately. “Unless the people are provided with an alternative, their homes should not be demolished,” he said.

Member Provincial Assembly Saleem Baloch, Salman Abdullah Murad, PD Karachi Neighborhood Improvement Project Nazir Memon and others also addressed the function. The speakers said that Pir Mahfooz Football Ground, Young Football and Friends Cricket Ground, Shaheed Muhammad Khaskheli Park and Library, Khokhrapar A Area Park, Madina Family Park and 11 Kilometre road and streets of Malir Cluster are part of this package.

They said that after completing these projects by November, we would present gifts to the citizens. Later, the administrator Karachi unveiled the plaque of these projects.
