FPCCI Commends Pakistan’s Role in US-Iran Ceasefire Negotiations

KARACHI: Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, Chairman Businessmen Panel-Progressive (BMPP) and Senior Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), has praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar for their significant contributions in facilitating the ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

According to Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Magoon stated that this ceasefire has prevented potential loss of life and has brought renewed hope for peace in the region. He emphasized that Pakistan’s leadership has not only accomplished a diplomatic achievement but has also enhanced the nation’s standing internationally.

Mr. Magoon pointed out the economic benefits of this development, noting that the removal of sanctions on Iran presents substantial opportunities for Pakistan. He highlighted that access to cheaper industrial raw materials from Iran would bolster the manufacturing sector, while gas pipelines and affordable petroleum imports could reduce costs for both industry and consumers.

He called upon the government to swiftly create a comprehensive plan to seize these opportunities, stressing the importance of involving FPCCI and the broader business community to ensure that decisions align with national interests and support sustainable economic growth.

Mr. Magoon underscored the potential for Pakistan to pursue a new path of economic development through strategic planning, leveraging regional peace to foster prosperity domestically.
