GB Assembly passes budget for fiscal year 2019-20

The Gilgit Baltistan Assembly passed Gilgit Baltistan budget for fiscal year 2019-20 today (Tuesday).

The outlay of budget is over 62.95 billion rupees out of which 17.40 billion rupees for development and 37.71 billion for non-development expenditure.

During the proceeding, members of opposition and treasury benches presented cut motions regarding development schemes.

Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman and Minister Planning and Development Iqbal Hassan assured them to accommodate their suggestions in the annual development program.

Chief Minister informed the House that survey of Gilgit Shandur expressway has been initiated by National Highway Authority which will be completed next month.

Opposition leader Muhammad Shafi and other members thanked Chief Minister and Government for presenting budget.

Later, Speaker adjourned session till indefinite time .
