Global Aviation Company Interested in Outsourcing of Pakistan’s Airports

In a significant development for Pakistan’s aviation sector, Menzies Aviation, a global airport services provider, has expressed keen interest in expanding its operations following discussions on the government’s plans to outsource the management of major airports in Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore.

The Ministry of Finance, Government of Pakistan, reported today that the potential for enhanced collaboration was discussed in a meeting in Davos between the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Mr. Hassan El-Houry, Chairman of Menzies Aviation.

Senator Aurangzeb outlined the government’s broad reform and privatization agenda, including details of the progress concerning Pakistan International Airlines. He emphasized that the country’s economy is on a positive trajectory, creating a conducive environment for international partnerships and private sector investment.

Mr. Hassan El-Houry, leveraging his company’s global experience, described Pakistan as an attractive destination for aviation-related projects. He specifically mentioned the strategic importance of Sialkot and conveyed his company’s commitment to expanding its activities in the country.

The discussions also covered matters of mutual interest, such as enhancing the quality of airport services, improving operational efficiency, and elevating the overall passenger experience within Pakistan’s aviation infrastructure.
