KARACHI: Gold prices decreased Wednesday following rise of Pakistani rupee against the US dollar.

According to the All Sindh Sarafa and Jewellers Association, the price of 24 Karat gold plunged by Rs8,600 per tola to reach Rs146,300. The price of 10 grams 24 Karat gold fell by Rs7,373 to reach Rs138,927.

The gold hit an all-time high of Rs162,500 per tola on July 28. The latest price for local markets was determined to keep in view the prices at which trades took place among buyers and sellers. In the international market, bullion prices decreased by $14 per ounce to settle at $1,764.
