Pasban-e-Watan Pakistan Central President Muhammad Tahir Khokhar has strongly criticized the government, calling its policies a superficial “eyewash”, which are failing to tackle rising inflation, causing the country’s poor to long for two square meals a day.
The former minister for tourism and transport stressed in a statement on Tuesday that various projects and claims advertised by the administration are just for show rather than providing practical benefits. He described the government’s approach as an unacceptable attempt to appease the public through “mere lollipops and false promises.”
Khokhar emphasized that the government’s priorities are misplaced and should be focused on the basic needs of the public, such as employment opportunities, health, education, and basic facilities.
He argued that practical measures are necessary to genuinely improve citizens’ lives, and said that attractive programs and promotional measures are insufficient. “Mere claims and promises cannot solve public problems,” he said, and demanded special attention to the real difficulties faced by the people.
The political leader pointed out that the public’s problems are continuously increasing and there is no one to pay attention to their plight. He maintained that inflation has made the common man’s life more difficult, and a better policy should be introduced to free them from its grip.
Khokhar described the current “obsolete system” as a failure, saying that it has not been able to meet the needs of the public and there is an urgent need to change it immediately. He warned that any person or institution lacking a clear agenda for the future will fail to solve the public’s problems.
In the end, he demanded that the government and relevant institutions take immediate and priority measures to solve the public’s difficulties, and urged for comprehensive and effective measures to pull the people out of the economic crisis.
