Governor Links Girls’ Education to National Economic and Social Progress

Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi has described equal educational opportunities for girls as a “vital need of the time,” underscoring the key role educated women play in the nation”s economic and social advancement.

He expressed these views during a meeting at the Governor House with a delegation from Jinnah University for Women, led by its Chancellor, Wajeehuddin. The university”s Vice Chancellor, Registrar, and faculty members were also in attendance, according to a statement from the Sindh Governor House today.

During the discussions, Chancellor Wajeehuddin apprised the governor of the institution”s historical significance, noting that its establishment was permitted by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah himself. He further stated that the university is the first in Pakistan to provide women with education in modern technology across all its disciplines.

Governor Hashmi reasserted the importance of female education, stating that the empowerment of women is essential for the progress and prosperity of society. He also affirmed that the government is implementing measures to secure better educational opportunities for women.

On this occasion, Chancellor Wajeehuddin extended an invitation to the Sindh Governor to preside as the chief guest at the 150th birth anniversary celebration of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
