The Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, announced on Sunday that the current government has set the nation on a path of economic development.
Speaking at a ceremony in Narowal, he emphasized the importance of the tough decisions made for economic revival, regardless of potential political repercussions.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ahsan Iqbal expressed that Pakistan’s economic progress is now acknowledged on a global scale. He highlighted that the government’s efforts have attracted international attention towards the country’s growth trajectory.
The planning minister credited former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for eliminating power load shedding during his tenure. He stated that Sharif’s administration generated 11,000 megawatts of electricity within four years, setting the country on a development course. He also mentioned that the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is underway in collaboration with China.
Ahsan announced the launch of the “Uraan Pakistan” initiative, designed to elevate the national economy. He accused the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of misappropriating the Saylani ‘Langar Khanas’ initiative and criticized PTI for organizing protests abroad, which he claimed damaged Pakistan’s international reputation.
