Srinagar, July 30, 2020 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Grand Mufti, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam, extending felicitations ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, has urged the Kashmiri people to observe 5th August as Black Day as the Modi-led Indian government, in violation of international law, repealed special status of Kashmir on that day, last year.
Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam in a media interview in Srinagar denounced the introduction of brutal and black laws one after the other by the Modi government to accelerate the process of demographic change in the territory. He said that on August 5 the people of Kashmir would register their protest against political injustices and would convey a loud and clear message to India that they would not accept its illegal actions and anti-Kashmir policies.
Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam said that the entire population of occupied Kashmir had suffered a lot on all fronts in terms of lives, properties, economy, education and health due to the oppressive measures of India, particularly after the abrogation of Kashmir’s special status of the territory.
He also welcomed the resolve and determination of the Kashmiri people for the Kashmir cause and urged India to release all illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists languishing in different jails before Eid-ul-Azha.
