The Health, Engineering and Mineral Show (HEMS) is set to begin Thursday at the Lahore Expo Centre with participation from more than 860 foreign delegates representing multiple countries, according to Federal Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan.

The event has been organized by the Ministry of Commerce in collaboration with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and the Punjab government. Arranged within one month, HEMS continues a series of sector-specific trade exhibitions previously held in Pakistan, including those focused on food and textiles.

Foreign delegates from Europe, China, Africa, the United States, and the Middle East will explore trade and investment prospects in Pakistan’s mineral, engineering, and fashion sectors. The expo is expected to facilitate partnerships and contribute to export promotion.

Jam Kamal Khan remarked that the initiative reflects growing international interest in Pakistan, bolstered by indicators such as rising remittances, a growing stock market, declining inflation, and easing policy rates. He noted that delegates are participating to engage with Pakistan’s industries and evaluate practical business opportunities.

The Minister also commended the local business community for effectively showcasing their capabilities through pavilions aimed at highlighting Pakistan’s export potential. He underscored that evolving global trends are creating new trade pathways, and events like HEMS are aligned with Pakistan’s strategy to expand its economic footprint.
